Glory FM Radio

Originally Glory FM was going to be named Hope Fm.  We have a different name but the same vision is moving forward.  Check out this article about the night we unveiled the vision for a radio station!

The entire program had been leading up to it. Emcee Daniel Wallace played the role of the radio announcer for HOPE FM, interviewing guests who shared details about Tyler-based Parental Care Ministries and its work in Uganda.

It seemed like the chosen theme for the program, but nothing more. However, when Pastor Emmanuel “Emmy” Nnyanzi opened a faux UPS package on stage and had Wallace read the contents of the letter inside, he couldn’t contain his joy.

Nnyanzi threw his arms up in the air, jumped up and down, and shouted for joy, thanking Jesus aloud.

“This is amazing,” he said. “You don’t know how much this is going to be a blessing to our people.”

What the pastor shared with the 450 or so guests at the Green Acres Baptist Church CrossWalk Conference Center in Tyler was this: His ability to share the Gospel via radio broadcasts in Uganda soon will become substantially more powerful.

Dr. Mark and Monica Barret, of Tyler, Parental Care Ministries USA directors, said the nonprofit essentially has been renting about three hours of airtime a week on an existing radio station for Nnyanzi to preach the gospel.

Now, PCM has been granted its own radio frequency, secured the land, radio transmission equipment and fence necessary to build the tower and paid for its construction.

The only remaining piece of the project is the funding to construct the radio station building with a studio, house and office onsite.

Nnyanzi said the station is going to be a huge blessing for the Ugandan people to hear about Jesus Christ.

In Uganda, very few people have television, and Internet access when available is slow, Nnyanzi said.

“The only means of getting information is through radio,” Nnyanzi said, which is why a radio ministry sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so powerful.

The announcement capped off an evening in which PCM supporters celebrated God’s work through this ministry.

Started in 2008, the nonprofit corporation exists to help poor and orphaned Ugandan children by meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs in Christian schools, according to its website.

The ministry also equips more than 70 pastors to spread the Gospel in Uganda and the surrounding countries.

In addition to the announcement of the new radio station, other updates included the progress toward opening the Omwana House for abandoned and orphaned Ugandan babies and children, and the upcoming PCM children’s choir tour to the United States.

In closing, Nnyanzi thanked everyone in attendance for their support.

“You are such a huge, big part in our ministry,” he said. “Together we have managed to make a difference in Africa.”
